Setting up for the Pottery Party
Here's what to expect at your party:
We will need a table or desk located near an electrical
outlet for the pottery wheel demonstration. You can hold the party in a
family room, kitchen, dining room, basement, on your deck or anywhere
the participants can work on a table.
- There should be one package of paper towels and an ice cream bucket or a bowl filled with water on the instructor's table.
- During a ten to fifteen minute demonstration at the
start of the party, we will talk to the children about clay and make a
cup on our pottery wheel.
- We will then give the initial instructions for the
desired project. The children will return to their table and proceed
with their project, stopping once or twice to receive additional
instructions.
- The children will need individual or shared small containers of water and 2 round double- pointed toothpicks.
- Please remember to provide name tags for each child.
